Music BC’s travel grants are now open for Artists and Businesses! This will be our final grant deadline for 2023, and submissions will be accepted until May 26th at 5:00 PM PST.
This intake period will be accepting applications to support initiatives that take place between April 1st, 2023, to September 30th, 2023.
Applications remain open for one more week for the Award for Audio Excellence Scholarship, honouring the lovely Olivia Quan. Olivia was a music producer and audio engineer from Vancouver, B.C. who passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2022 at the age of only 25. Being a young woman of colour in a male dominated profession she was tearing down walls, brick by brick, in her quietly determined manner, clearing a path for herself and for others who might follow. She was light years ahead of where she should have been at her age and can only be described as a rising star of Vancouver’s recording scene.
This award is for the future generations of young people pursuing a career in audio to learn from and be inspired by Olivia’s achievements and dedication to her craft.
One (1) participant will be awarded $5000 each year of the award. The annual recipient will be decided by Olivia’s family and close friends.
