NEW JUMPSTART FOUNDATIONS MODULE

An exciting new Jumpstart Module is now live, and free to access via registration through the Jumpstart Foundations portal.

Join Olivier Laroche of “Pimp Your Show”, as he outlines efficient and straightforward solutions to get the best out of all types of musical performances, instructs on how to unleash the full communicative potential of a live show in 20 minutes or less, and shares tools that turn shows into unique experiences. This session offers an introduction to key strategies for performing artists to enhance their live performances, specifically when participating in export missions or industry showcases.

WCMA 2024 VOTING IS NOW OPEN

The Western Canadian Music Awards have revealed their list of nominees for 2024! British Columbia has received a total of 51 Artistic Award Nominations and 10 Industry Award Nominations.

Are you a member of Music BC, or another Western Canadian Music Industry Association? You can vote!

Here’s how:
– Check your email for your official voting link (“WCMA 2024 Voting Is Open“)
– Follow the guidelines provided in the email, and vote once in each category
– Make sure to vote before May 31st at 11:59 PM PST

APPLY TO PLAY RIFFLANDIA FESTIVAL

Applications to join the Rifflandia 2024 lineup are now open to BC artists! 

Established in 2008, Rifflandia Festival is one of the longest running large-scale music & arts festivals in Western Canada. Rifflandia welcomes over 30,000 music lovers to Victoria BC for performances by top international and national acts alongside new and emerging artists. Artists from all genres are encouraged to apply through the form below, to be considered to perform during the festival. Artists must be available to play on any day of the September 13-15th, 2024 festival dates.

Music BC is thrilled to be partnering with Women in Music BC to present an incredible showcase of BC talent in Toronto on June 3rd, 2024!

APPLY FOR ALLAN SLAIGHT JUNO MASTERCLASS
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the 2024/2025 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class submissions are open now until 5 PM EST on May 31, 2024. The selected artists will participate in a weeklong mentorship program in Toronto, that will include workshops with artists and industry experts and get access to tools to prepare themselves for the next step in their career.

Calling all women, non-binary and gender-expansive music producers and engineers! Spotify Sued By The MLC For Cutting Pay Rate To Songwriters Via Premium Bundles
