ARC 2024 PARTICIPANTS ANNOUNCED

Join us in welcoming the 2024 cohort of artists participating in the ARC Accelerator Program: 

AHSIA, Bukola, Cam Blake, daysormay, Ivan Hartle, Janky Bungag, Jillian Lake, Jordel, Kardias Quing, Kid Filthy, Neighbourly, NIKKAELA, Riun Garner, Semi Athletic, and Slightest Clue.

ARC is a multi-stage program that will advance the business, creative, and technical skills of recording artists to help them build sustainable careers in the music industry—both at home and away. Led by a faculty of music industry professionals, participants will benefit from decades of experience and success within the music business.

APPLY TO SHOWCASE AT VIFF SOUNDOFF

Are you dreaming of hearing your music in Film & TV? Music BC and Vancouver International Film Festival are happy to announce that applications for VIFF SOUNDOFF are now open!

SOUNDOFF is a showcasing platform during VIFF AMP with a focus on song placement in Film and TV, where artists will perform two (2) original songs and connect with a panel of domestic and international music supervisors.

Submissions will be accepted now until July 26th, 2024, and will be reviewed and curated by a jury of local industry members, VIFF and Music BC. The showcase will take place this October; artists must be available between October 1-4, 2024.

Submission Deadline: July 26th, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST

BREAKOUT WEST 2024 REGISTRATION IS OPEN

BreakOut West is now open for registration! This year’s event, which takes place in Saskatoon, SK from September 25-29, 2024, features a multi-genre line-up of over 50 artists across multiple venues. The festival highlights Western Canadian talent alongside select International and Pan-Canadian artists. BreakOut West 2024 will also include a four-day conference and the Western Canadian Music Awards.

The first wave of artists has been announced and includes BC artists Sadé Awele and Jillian Lake. Stay tuned for more to be announced!

Women in Music Canada is excited to announce the launch of a special edition of their national mentorship program! The program is dedicated to connecting trans, non-binary and 2-spirit professionals from all different skill sets. Mentors and Mentees are both encouraged to apply, fostering a community of professional growth, connecting diverse communities.

The Music Industry Initiatives program supports initiatives that grow and develop British Columbia’s music ecosystem.Successful projects will build the capacity of B.C.’s music industry through training, knowledge transfer, and the creation of new business opportunities. Canadian companies, not-for-profit organizations, individuals, and collectives are able to apply.
