Save the date! Music BC’s Annual General Meeting is only four weeks away. This year’s AGM will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 at 5:00 PM (PST).
During the meeting, Music BC Members will have the opportunity to help shape the Board of Directors, as well as learn about our organization’s vision for 2025 and beyond.

Additionally, we would like to invite active and enthusiastic members of the BC music industry interested in running for a seat on the Board of Directors to reach out to emily@musicbc.org for more information, and to express your intent to run.
To be eligible for consideration, a candidate must meet the following qualifications:
Be a Music BC member in good standing
Be 19 years of age or older
Believe in the mission, vision and work of the Organization
Attend 4-6 board meetings per year (currently held digitally), approx. 6-9hrs/year
Participate in at least one sub-committee (2-3 virtual meetings per year), approx. 2-3hrs/year
Must be available by phone and email
Support ongoing Music BC events in person whenever possible
Attend the 2024, 2025 and 2026 AGM, if possible, approx. 1.5-2hrs/year
Our board is currently made up of eleven directors which are all volunteered positions. This year there are six (6) seats to be filled (each seat is a two-year term).
The deadline for Nominations / Expression of Interest is Friday, October 11th, 2024 with Candidate Materials due on Friday, October 18th, 2024 at 12:00 PM (PST).
Music BC’s next round of travel grant deadlines have been announced for Artists and Businesses – including showcase, touring and business travel!
As such, we are hosting another Travel Grant info session, led by Music BC’s Program Manager, Nicolle Dupas and Program Coordinator, Emily Clarke.
The session will cover an intro to Music BC, overview of the different travel grant program and deadline windows, application success rates and averages, application assets and best practices, the jury process, final reporting best practices, tangible application examples, and more.
