Music BC is seeking creative professionals and music industry representatives to join our juror roster for 2025.
Our jurors will provide insight and feedback on our Music BC Travel Grants. A juror honorarium will be provided. Applicants must reside in Canada.
We are committed to providing a jury that reflects the diversity of our province and the creative industry – including gender identity, sexuality, heritage, age, ethnicity, religious background, region, accessibility and socio-economic status.
INTERNATIONAL INDIGENOUS MUSIC SUMMIT APPLICATIONS Showcase applications are officially open for the 2025 International Indigenous Music Summit (IIMS), taking place from June 2-6, 2025in Toronto, Ontario. IIMS provides a unique space for Indigenous artists to discuss, exchange, and share and connect with one another, in a culturally sensitive and appropriate space directed at building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between artists and industry professionals. Submissions are open to all Indigenous artists across Turtle Island and around the world. The showcases will shine a spotlight on artistic excellence in the Indigenous music community. CANADA COUNCIL VIRGINIA PARKER PRIZE The Virginia Parker Prize, valued at $30,000, is awarded annually to a Canadian classical singer, instrumentalist or conductor under the age of 32. This prize is awarded to musicians who demonstrate outstanding talent, musicianship and artistic merit, and who make a valuable contribution to the artistic life in Canada and abroad. Change The Beat Empowers Emerging DJs and Producers Across Canada The inaugural Change The Beat tour features a stacked lineup of female and gender-diverse DJs including Bambii, Maya Jane Coles and Joanna Magik, in ten Canadian cities.
