EVOLUTION OR REVOLUTION – THE STATE OF THE RECORD LABEL

The rise of self-managed, self-produced artists coupled with the streaming revolution over the past decade has turned the music industry on its head. Where do labels – both large and small – fit into the current music industry ecosystem, and where do they fit within the new narrative of DIY? Is the label a dying breed or an evolving model?

Panelists:
Stuart Meyer – Sub Pop
Adam MacKinnon – Barsuk
Taylor Dutton – Eyrst
Adrienne LaBelle – Mint Records
