As advocates for artists, musicians and music professionals we affirm our commitment to fair and equitable treatment, representation and prosperity for all peoples in our communities, our industry, and indeed around the globe.

Recent events around world remind us again that there is a lot to be done to support people of colour and communities of colour. Prejudice, racism, and injustice have no place in our industry nor in the communities we serve, yet they remain to this day. Music BC and our partners have a responsibility to take meaningful action in eliminating such inequalities both in our industry and our society.

Alongside our partners at FACTOR, we are committed to more conversation, more listening, and more action. We’d also like to share the Diversity & Inclusion initiatives being undertaken by our partners at FACTOR.

As well, we will continue to compile resources for the music community to educate themselves on the continued discrimination and racism in our society and our industry. We wish to make our commitment known to hold ourselves – and our music community accountable to create lasting change and equality.
