JUMPSTART GRANTS
Music BC’s Jumpstart Grants will assist B.C.-based, for-profit music businesses in hiring a summer apprentice aspiring to work in the music business. This program promotes hands-on training through a 10-20 hour/week part-time work placement, coupled with invaluable industry mentorship, with the overarching goal of fostering pathways toward full-time employment in the industry.
At Music BC, education is a cornerstone of our mission. Offering valuable learning experiences through work experience and mentorship is a primary way we hope to equip individuals with the tools to achieve excellence in their music career path.
Businesses may submit one application in this deadline, up to a maximum ask of $5,000 CAD to support the hiring of 1 (one) summer apprentice for 10-20 hours per week for up to three (3) months. Grant contributions will support 100% of the total eligible expenses up to the program cap.
We encourage applicants to carefully read through the guidelines as we continue to make program adjustments each year to better serve the needs of the BC community.
PROGRAM TIMELINE
Applications Open: Thursday, February 8th, 2024 (9am PST)
Applications Close: Thursday, March 21st, 2024 (5pm PST)
Results Sent: On or before Friday, April 5th, 2024 (5pm PST)
Final Report: Monday, September 30th, 2024 (5pm PST)
Please note: This program will be accepting applications to support part-time work placements that take place between June 1st, 2024, and August 31st, 2024. As this is a pilot program, future timelines will be assessed and announced in 2025.
