FINAL WEEK TO APPLY FOR JUMPSTART GRANTS!

Are you a music business looking to expand your team this summer, while mentoring the next generation of music industry professionals? This program was designed for you!

The Jumpstart Grants assists BC-based, for-profit music businesses in hiring a summer apprentice aspiring to work in the music business. This program promotes hands-on training through a 10-20 hour/week part-time work placement, coupled with invaluable industry mentorship, with the overarching goal of fostering pathways toward full-time employment in the industry.

Application Deadline: March 21st at 5:00 PM PST.

THANK YOU FOR COMING TO LET’S HEAR IT 2024

Well, that was another one for the books! From the whole Music BC team, thank you for another incredible year of Let’s Hear It.

From Fox Cabaret to La Fabrique St-George, from Red Gate to the Cobalt… the streets of Mount Pleasant were alive on March 2nd with such a vibrant energy of folks who were out to discover their new favourite BC artists. Thank you to every one of you for attending and participating, and making this such a special event.

THE 2023 ARC IMPACT REPORT IS HERE

The 2023 ARC program was an amazing success, bringing artists and faculty together from across the province to provide mentorship and education to accelerate their music careers.

MUSIC BC BOARD APPOINTS SUZETTE AMAYA

Music BC and the entire Board of Directors would like to extend the warmest of welcomes to the newest member of the Board: Suzette Amaya!

Suzette Amaya is Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw – Cree, Nisga’a, Coast Salish pf the GwaSala-Nakwaxda’xw Nation, living on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations known as Vancouver.

Suzette created & produces/hosts the award-winning radio show ThinkNDN on CFRO 100.5fm, (a Radio Host Producer since 1997) and is owner of SAMAYA Entertainment curating and Producing Concerts, Festival, Conference and supporting Indigenous Artists as well as her Production company co-owned by her husband DJ Stanley (Stanley Amaya) and managing her Brand as a Public Speaker and Influencer.

Amplify BC’s Music Company program supports the sustainability, growth, and capacity of B.C.’s music companies through investing in business development activities. Applications are scored according to the priorities of the program, the economic impact of the project, and the applicant’s demonstrated capacity to deliver the project.

APPLY FOR WOMEN IN MUSIC BC SHOWCASE (TORONTO)
Apply to perform at a curated showcase in Toronto for industry professionals on Monday June 3rd, 2024. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday March 29th. Selected applicants will receive travel honorariums, and attend one on one meetings with industry delegates and a mingler in addition to the showcase.
