DEADLINE FOR ARC 2024 APPLICATIONS

Applications for BC’s very own intensive artist accelerator program, ARC, close this Friday!

ARC delivers a series of artist development experiences where participants receive one-on-one mentorship with industry professionals, including managers, creative content directors, and renowned music producers. They will attend workshops in finance and contracts, marketing and branding, live production, mental health, and songwriting. Finally, ARC participants have the opportunity to connect with other emerging artists, as well as established professionals in the music industry.

Submission Deadline: April 26th, 2024 at 11:59 PM (PST)

MUSIC BC TRAVEL GRANTS

Music BC’s travel grants are currently open for Artists and Businesses – including showcase, touring and business travel.

Artist and Business Travel

  • Application Deadline: May 17th, 2024 at 5:00 PM (PST)
  • This deadline will be accepting applications to support initiatives that take place between April 1st, 2024 and September 30th, 2024

FINAL CALL FOR INTEREST: A2IM INDIE WEEK, NYC

We’re excited to announce that Music BC will be participating in A2IM Indie Week 2024, set to take place in New York City from June 10-13, 2024. 

This mission presents a fantastic opportunity for labels and managers to connect with key international contacts across various industries, with a special focus on engaging with A2IM’s US members.

If you’re interested in being considered for this invaluable experience, we will be selecting two to three BC-based businesses to join Music BC’s delegation at A2IM. Kindly fill out the “Expression of Interest” form at the link below.

BC ARTISTS AT THE GREAT ESCAPE

Music BC is thrilled to be returning for an eighth year to The Great Escape! The Great Escape welcomes artists from every genre across the globe to play at the world’s most renowned festival for breaking new talent, against the seaside backdrop of Brighton, UK.

Catch three phenomenal BC acts showcasing at CIMA’s Canada House, on May 16th and 18th, 2024: Desirée Dawson, Vox Rea and Winona Forever.

FACTOR ANNOUNCES 2024 DEADLINES

FACTOR (The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings) have announced their latest deadlines for artist programs! Whether an artist is looking to record a demo or a full-length sound recording, market an existing album, or go on tour at home or internationally, there is funding available.

Note: All deadlines are at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Music BC is seeking creative professionals and music industry representatives to join our juror roster for 2024. Our jurors will provide insight and feedback on our Music BC Travel Grants. A juror honorarium will be provided. We are committed to providing a jury that reflects the diversity of our province and the creative industry – including gender identity, sexuality, heritage, age, ethnicity, religious background, region, accessibility and socio-economic status.

AUDITION FOR HONEY JAM 2024
Auditions for Honey Jam 2024 are coming up! Honey Jam is a non-profit multicultural artist development programme run by PhemPhat Entertainment Group. They’re searching the country for female artists, ages 14-25, representing pop, hip hop, jazz, soca, r&b, gospel, rock, dancehall, blues, alternative, opera, country – all styles of music to participate in this season’s artist development program.

APPLY FOR THE OHSOTO’KINO MUSIC INCUBATOR
The OHSOTO’KINO Music Incubator is a five-day artist development intensive for Indigenous artists in Canada. Each year, six Indigenous artists will converge at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, to learn new skills, connect with music industry experts from across the country, and to hone their craft and professional chops. This program will take place from Monday, September 30 to Friday, October 4, 2024.
