UPCOMING DEADLINE: MUSIC BC TRAVEL GRANTS

Music BC’s travel grants are open for one more week for Artists and Businesses – including showcase, touring and business travel. Applications close next Friday, May 17th!

This deadline will be accepting applications to support initiatives that take place between April 1st, 2024 and September 30th, 2024. 

As always, please ensure that you read our program guidelines in advance of applying, as we are constantly updating them to improve our programs. If you have any questions, please reach out to info@musicbc.org

JUMPSTART CAREER CONSULTATIONS

Music BC’s ongoing career consultation and music business mentorship program is taking requests for free 1-hour sessions! If you have a music-related project you’d like to gain insight on, don’t hesitate to get your request in today to speak with one of our industry professionals. 

Have you accessed your free 1-on-1 session yet? Or maybe it’s been a while, and you have a new project that you need insight on. No matter where you’re at, Jumpstart Consults are open to Members and Non-Members alike.

APPLY FOR ALLAN SLAIGHT JUNO MASTERCLASS

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the 2024/2025 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class submissions are open now until 5 PM EST on May 31, 2024.

The selected artists will participate in a weeklong mentorship program in Toronto, that will include workshops with artists and industry experts and get access to tools to prepare themselves for the next step in their career.

UPCOMING FACTOR DEADLINE

FACTOR (The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings) have announced their latest deadlines for artist programs, and the Juried Sound Recording (Single/EP) Deadline is fast approaching.

The Juried Sound Recording: Single/EP program provides 50% of eligible expenses up to a maximum of $25,000 to artists creating new recordings for a single and/or EP format, within a fiscal year. Specifically, five songs or less and under 20 minutes of recorded music.

Auditions for Honey Jam 2024 are coming up! Honey Jam is a non-profit multicultural artist development programme run by PhemPhat Entertainment Group. They’re searching the country for female artists, ages 14-25, representing pop, hip hop, jazz, soca, r&b, gospel, rock, dancehall, blues, alternative, opera, country – all styles of music to participate in this season’s artist development program.

APPLY FOR CIMA’S BUSINESS & SHOWCASE MISSION TO ATLANTA 
This June, CIMA will be organizing a business and showcase mission for Canadian Black music professionals to Atlanta. This mission focuses on expanding the careers of Canadian Black SMES with B2B and networking opportunities, a Canadian showcase, and creative collaborations for their artists. CIMA has partnered with Atlanta’s Milk and Cookies Festival to provide in-depth export opportunities and cultivate US industry connections throughout the week.
