“INTRODUCTION TO BECOMING A VOCAL ATHLETE” IS NOW LIVE!

An exciting new Jumpstart Module is now live, and free to access via registration through the Jumpstart Foundations portal. 

Carol-Lynne Quinn is a Vocal Coach, Vocologist, Vocal Producer, TEDx Speaker and Artist. She has the pleasure of working with JUNO award-winning, major label, indie and emerging artists. She is the vocal coach for the JUNO Master Class, Canada’s Music Incubator, Project Wild, the ARC program and more. Clients include: Mother Mother, Celeigh Cardinal, Preston Pablo, Jade LeMac, Sophia Fracassi, Hotel Mira, MONOWHALES, Louise Burns, Rare Americans, Hailey Benedict, Blonde Diamond, RIELL and more.

This session offers an introduction to key strategies for artists to draw from when creating their own custom vocal “toolbox”. It’s meant to be an accessible approach to integrating proper vocal technique into their everyday performances, practices, and studio sessions.

BC ARTISTS AT SCHOOL NIGHT TORONTO

It’s a School Night! Music BC is excited to be partnering with School Night Toronto for a showcase of BC talent on Monday, September 25th. 

Since 2010, School Night has been the go-to live music series for fans and industry alike to find their new favourite artists. What began as a Monday night show in the heart of Hollywood at Bardot now also is a monthly in New York City and Toronto, monthly shows at Soho House West Hollywood and Soho Warehouse, and has stages at events like Sundance, SXSW, and CMJ. 

Catch Big Kill, Blonde Diamond, David Vertesi, and NADUH take over the School Night stage at Drake Underground in less than 3 weeks.

APPLY FOR ADVANCE CANADA’S BLACK ADVANCEMENT GRANT
ADVANCE, Canada’s Black Music Business Collective, in partnership with The City of Toronto and The Slaight Family Foundation, announces the launch of The  B.A.G. (Black ADVANCEment Grant), which will inject over $200,000 into Canada’s Black-owned for- profit and non-for-profit businesses.

Submissions are open for SOCAN Foundation x TD Canada’s Indigenous Songwriter Award. The competition is open to songwriters who are of Indigenous decent, and may be of any age. Candidates must be Canadians and SOCAN members or Canadians who are not members of any performing rights organization.

PARIS. is a 22-year-old rising star from Burnaby, British Columbia. Despite only starting his music career 2 years ago, the Filipino-Canadian has already made waves in the Vancouver music scene, having been featured on 6ixbuzzTV, and performing at the Safe and Sound festival.

PARIS. has drawn comparisons to hip hop/r&b heavyweights A Boogie With da Hoodie and Lil Tjay; and is quickly gaining recognition as one of the most promising young artists in the industry.
