Applications are now open for BC’s very own intensive artist accelerator program, ARC!
ARC highlights, nurtures, and sends into orbit the exciting, diverse voices that beat in BC. This multi-stage program will advance the business, creative, and technical skills of recording artists to help them build sustainable careers in the music industry—both at home and away. Led by a faculty of music industry professionals, participants will benefit from decades of experience and success within the music business.
Last week on April 18th, we hosted a Let’s Hear It Showcase celebrating Creative Industries Week in Victoria, BC – and it was a huge success, thanks to you!
It was a pleasure to witness some of BC’s top emerging talent light up the Duke Saloon stage; Nicky MacKenzie, Desirée Dawson and XL the Band, all while bringing together individuals from all of the creative sectors of our province.
On April 19th, Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport announced a historic contribution of $42 million into the motion picture, music, publishing and interactive digital media industries in British Columbia; $22.5M of which is going into a 3-year Amplify BC renewal. This will directly benefit music programs, funding, and events in BC – and was a huge reason to celebrate!
Minister Popham went on to say: “We know the pandemic has been especially hard on the people in this area and that not every business has fully recovered. We want to help them recover, move forward with success and strength, and continue to create the content we all love.”
Thank you to the Province of British Columbia for supporting this Let’s Hear It event, and for your ongoing support of Amplify BC.

SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK
Producer and singer Mar Emanuel crafts songs with the care and feel of a musician who needs to be heard.
A self-awareness can be found in his songs. Through candid songwriting, smooth vocal performance and lush composition, Mar Emanuel blurs the line between ‘not-quite-for-radio’ pop and new-age RnB.
Mar brings the world into his bedroom studio. He refines the grandiose into an intimate piece of himself to share.
