Breakout West features an immersive music industry and artist development conference, and a festival with 50+ artists performing across multiple venues. The festival highlights Western Canadian talent alongside select International and Pan-Canadian artists.
Applications are now open for Vancouver’s inaugural Music Task Force.
The City of Vancouver seeks people living or working in the city who want to contribute to the future of music in Vancouver, and add to the city’s cultural vibrancy. The Task Force will oversee the implementation of the Vancouver Music Strategy by City of Vancouver staff, and advise on the ongoing needs and priorities of the sector.

Capitol Hill Block Party is an annual, three-day music festival and block party held each July in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighbourhood. Now in its 25th year, the festival is taking place July 21 – 23, 2023!

If you’ve been following the various tech-related legislation winding its way through the Canadian federal government, you’ll know about Bill C-11, also known as the online streaming act. SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK
RAIAAN is a young pop singer-songwriter currently residing in Vancouver, Canada. Influenced by crooners such as; Michael Bublé and Frank Sinatra, and storytellers like Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran, RAIAAN amalgamates his smooth vocals with emotional and catchy melodies for a modern sound that pays homage to his predecessors. After working alongside a bunch of amazing artists, producers, engineers, and creators, RAIAAN has released a five song EP, while still producing and engineering for other upcoming artists on the side. He has also had some experience working with an outdoor live project called the Ice-Cream Truck Collective as the audio engineer, as well as some experience performing with a collective of artists known as “The Supermrkt Social.” RAIAAN has just released one of his singles “Melatonin” featuring Desirée Dawson, as part of his upcoming album “Love-Notes” coming out later this year.
