We also had the opportunity to reveal the results of the Board of Directors election, with Daniel Turcotte, G-Luve, Howard Redekopp and Tony Yacowar being re-elected, and Justine Murdy and Shantel Heit being newly elected! Congrats to our new and re-elected board members, and a special thank you to all of the candidates.

Music BC’s travel grant deadlines are open for Artists and Businesses – including showcase, touring and business travel.
This is the final week to apply for our pilot program, the Business Envelope Travel Grant! This program provides assistance to B.C.-based, for-profit music companies and entrepreneurs undertaking travel activities in support of the growth and development of their business and/or their B.C.-based artist clients. It is designed for returning grant recipients to increase funding flexibility over a 12-month period for eligible activities and expenses, supporting activities taking place between August 1, 2023 and July 31st, 2024.
The deadline for Business Envelope Travel Applications is Friday, November 3rd at 5:00 PM PST.
Our regular Travel Grant intake is open as well for Showcasing, Touring and Business Travel support. This intake will be accepting applications to support initiatives that take place between October 1st, 2023, to March 31st, 2024.
The deadline for our regular intake is January 12th, 2024 @ 5:00pm PST.

Let’s Hear It (LHI) is Music BC’s regional concert series and emerging artist showcase. The series offers a unique chance for artists from British Columbia to connect with fans and members of the music industry. In the spring of 2023, Let’s Hear It underwent a transformative evolution, transitioning from a quarterly single-showcase series into a dynamic one-day festival at multiple venues throughout the Mount Pleasant Area of Vancouver, BC.

M for Montreal is an essential catalyst for the Quebec and Canadian Music Industry, both for emerging artists and artists with a career outside Quebec. The event features a series of conferences that bring together local and international music industry professionals. It offers a rich musical program of more than 100 artists at it’s annual gathering in November, in Montreal, QC.

Days of Lavender is a Vancouver-based meditative psychedelic electronic duo that blends together 80s synth pop, soulful worship music, and otherworldly soundscapes. After a whirlwind year releasing 8 singles and their EP “Mary’s Garden”; performing in festivals around BC and shows in Vancouver, and Toronto; they are now working on their first full length album, “MossTown”. Their mission is increasingly to create spaces for self-reflection, connection and healing through music.
