SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

Best known for her authentic song-writing and alternative-pop sound is 20 year old Amy Bacon from North Vancouver, BC. From a young age she took an interest in music-always writing songs, learning instruments and partaking in local singing competitions. It wasn’t until 2020 when Amy finally released her first official single ‘Do U Love Me’-now with over 30,000 streams. Since then, Amy has released an EP called ‘Growing Pains’ and most recently her single ‘Strawberry Chapstick.’

With an angsty yet sweet tone to her newest song, Amy experimented with dramatic sounds and bigger vocals while remaining true to her original style. Strawberry Chapstick is that of heartbreak and frustration, which is carefully reflected in the song’s melodies and structure.

Writing from places of vulnerability and life experiences has allowed Amy’s listeners to feel deeply connected with her music. Her plans to begin playing shows around Vancouver is something her dedicated audience has been requesting for years. But until then, she remains writing, singing and working towards the next steps of her career.
