Music BC’s travel grant deadlines are open for Artists and Businesses – including showcase, touring and business travel.

Application Deadline: January 12th, 2024 at 5:00 PM (PST)
This deadline will be accepting applications to support initiatives that take place between October 1st, 2023, to March 31st, 2024.

APPLY TO SHOWCASE AT THE INTERNATIONAL INDIGENOUS MUSIC SUMMIT 2024
Showcase applications are officially open for the 2024 International Indigenous Music Summit (IIMS), taking place from June 10-14, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario.
IIMS provides a unique space for Indigenous artists to discuss, exchange, and share and connect with one another, in a culturally sensitive and appropriate space directed at building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between artists and industry professionals.
Submissions are open to all Indigenous artists across Turtle Island and around the world. The showcases will shine a spotlight on artistic excellence in the Indigenous music community.
In February 2024, CIMA will be conducting their fifth mission to Mexico surrounding the FIMPRO Festival and Conference.
FIMPRO is the most relevant music industry meeting in Mexico and Latin America. In this space, a series of activities are developed that promote agreements and business between local creators and programmers of national and international events.
CIMA is organizing a showcase and business initiative to Guadalajara from February 28 until March 2, including a pre-event in Mexico City focusing on showcasing and networking for select mission participants.
FOCUS Wales is accepting applications for their 2024 Showcase and Festival, taking place May 9th – 11th.
With 300+ live performances, FOCUS Wales showcases the very best new talent emerging from the nation alongside established names and a selection of exciting international acts! FOCUS Wales 2024 will mark the festival’s 14th year, and will welcome over 20,000 people to the town, building upon 2023′s record attendance across a jam-packed weekend of events.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: WOMEN IN MUSIC CANADA LEADERSHIP ACCELERATOR This program is intended for mid-level industry professionals, in existing music companies or entrepreneurs, with a primary goal of preparing women and gender diverse music professionals for advancement to senior management and director-level opportunities. APPLY FOR THE ELEVATE MUSIC PROJECT The much-anticipated return of the ELEVATE Music Project is here! Submissions are officially open, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this musical journey. The goal of ELEVATE is to showcase musicians of all genres from across the province and give them a platform to develop and advance their careers. APPLY FOR CANADIAN CREATIVE ACCELERATOR Calling all self-identifying Black Canadian Music Managers! The Canadian Creative Accelerator (CCA) is your gateway to the American music scene. Suhel Nafar is On a Mission to Put Middle Eastern and North African Artists On the Global Stage Born in Lod — a city about 25 miles from Jerusalem — to Palestinian parents, Nafar learned English by listening to Dead Prez, 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK
Blending together elements of lofi, hip hop, and R&B, hanuel is a Korean singer/songwriter/producer currently based in Vancouver, Canada. He gained recognition on various social media platforms by sharing covers on Instagram and YouTube, gradually building a small but devoted following.
hanuel’s exceptional talent soon caught the attention of keshi, who was captivated by his infectious voice when he stumbled upon hanuel’s rendition of ‘SOMEBODY’ online. This acknowledgment not only helped hanuel realize his true potential as a singer, but also positioned him as a musical force capable of inspiring listeners to delve into their own emotions. Showcasing his kinetic performance skills, hanuel had the opportunity to open for JUNNY during his North American tour in the fall of 2022, leaving audiences enthralled.
hanuel had the privilege of opening for GEMINI during the North American leg of his Spring 2023 tour. Currently, he is diligently preparing for the upcoming installments of his captivating chronicle. Additionally, hanuel’s single “Flowers in May” went viral on TikTok, resulting in its charting at #3 on the Spotify Viral 50 in Thailand and within the Top 10 in Vietnam.
